
The CAA Art Center offers a wide range of art curriculums for children of all ages as well as adults. Various art concepts are taught, starting from basic art foundation skills to more challenging art concepts, depending on student skill level and personal goals.
The objective of the arts program is to train students in observation, discovery, imagination, and creation by the means of art. Through these methods, the ultimate goals of the CAA Art Center are to:
1. Advance the understanding of aesthetics
2. Develop greater imaginative power
3. Promote a unique sense of expression
4. Cultivate in students heightened creativity

CAA Student Art Exhibition March 3rd, 2007
Children’s Drawing
(Age 4+) – Provides an excellent foundation in the essentials of art. Basic strokes, color theory, and shapes will be studied and applied. Utilizing a variety of mediums, various projects will be created featuring diverse subjects from animals and landscapes to figures and cartoons.
Art & Design Drawing
(Age 7+ to Adult) – Levels I-V Students will be placed into levels according to age/ability
In-depth study and continuation of essential art concepts, including shape, structure, form, color, dimension, proportion, perspective, contrast, depth, balance, texture, emphasis, movement, rhythm, and unity. Art mediums to be explored may include line drawing, sketching, watercolor, oil pastel, handcrafts, acrylic, calligraphy, and Chinese brush painting.
Advanced Art & Design
Prerequisite: Completion of Level V Art & Design Drawing Course/ consent of instructor
Advanced Art & Design will encompass art mediums explored in Art & Design Levels I-V but will be examined at a more complex level. Additional art categories to be studied include oil paintings, mixed media, traditional Chinese paintings, and Modern Chinese paintings.
Calligraphy & Chinese Painting
(All Ages) Learn the fundamentals of Chinese calligraphy using the traditional ink and brush. A practical approach for the beginner or intermediate student. Both traditional and modern Chinese painting will be explored.
